Grade SM1, scp 45 £53,624 to scp 47 £55,666 per annum

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partners

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance you will play a key role in the discharge of the Directors Section 151 responsibilities including ensuring statutory and regulatory reporting and compliance by supporting budget holders in carrying out their financial management duties and compiling monthly performance reports and quarterly Cabinet reports

This role is responsible for providing productive challenge, assurance and recommendations to senior leaders in Bury Metropolitan Council, in particular, Executive and Assistant Directors, ensuring the completeness and quality of financial management in the directorate.  You will also lead on the financial input to cross organisational strategic projects.  

You will play a wider part in the leadership team within Finance, supporting the Section 151, ensuring good financial management and contributing to the successful delivery of services to all stakeholders, partners, residents and businesses .

 

About You

As an ideal candidate for this role, you will:

·       Have achieved CCAB or equivalent qualification with relevant work experience.

·       Have strong knowledge of local government finance.

·       Experience of managing at a senior level in a large, complex organisation in line with the areas of functional responsibility.

·       Work well with Elected Members, Executive Directors and senior external staff.

·       Have the ability to constructively challenge finance and service staff on financial and performance matters.

·       Be self-motivated, with a pro-active approach. Capable of working on own initiative and have an ability to formulate, prioritise, manage, and deliver deadlines under pressure and to rapidly changing deadlines

·       Be a strong leader and manager who develops yourself and your team in a collaborative and coaching style
