The starting salary for this role will be £30,753.24 which is inclusive of a matrix payment

 

 

 The Council’s Emergency Response and Resilience Team is a Priority 1 Operational Service area which operates 24/7/365 days a year are looking to recruit an Emergency Control Co-ordinator. We deal with a wide range of Security, Community and Council emergency situations via the Emergency Control Room and via mobile Community Response Officers. The work of the service can be dynamic and exciting and it has diversified and expanded in recent years to meet the demands and needs of a wide variety of clients and service areas.

The position is based within the Emergency Response and Resilience Team 24/7 Control Room where you will join a professional, self-motivated team of officers committed to the reduction of Council risks and able to deal with calls from employees, clients, members of the public and the emergency services in a polite but sometimes firm manner offering support, compassion and at times under pressure. The Service also operates public area CCTV and supports all sections of the Council in respect of service delivery, particularly out of hours.

You will work within a technologically advanced Control Room / Call Centre environment and must be observant and assertive with good self-control, listening skills and customer care. You must be a quick learner as well as having the ability to quickly assess dynamic situations to find positive solutions.

Whilst a high level of experience and understanding from a community safety, security or call centre background would be an advantage, we are looking for applicants with transferable skills, especially ICT, and experience and the enthusiasm and potential to make a positive contribution to the work of the Emergency Response and Resilience Team.

Successful applicants will be required to have a valid appropriate Security Industry Association (SIA – CCTV) license which includes a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. This licence will remain the applicant’s responsibility to maintain its validity. You will also be required to undertake a separate enhanced Greater Manchester Police check.

Hours of work are 37 per week, various shifts/hours to be worked currently on a seven-week rota – this includes unsociable hours over days, evenings, nights and weekends.
