Children’s Services places the interests of children firmly at the centre of everything we do, working with families to offer quality advice, support and guidance; build children's confidence, self-esteem and prepare them for life ahead.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Support Officer within our Children and Young People Service based at 6 Knowsley Place, Bury. This role provides comprehensive and high-quality support to the Child Protection and Child Looked after Unit, taking minutes at Child Protection Conferences and other meetings as required, as well as undertaking a range of business support tasks.

We are looking for an organised, self-motivated and professional individual who is able to provide a high level of administrative support. You will be working in a rewarding and fast paced environment, be confident in using technology and experienced in using computer packages and bespoke software. Your attention to detail will be necessary for quality checking of information as well as ensuring the service is GDPR compliant. You should have previous experience of working as part of a team to provide excellent service delivery through the provision of more specialist/technical administration duties and the ability to prioritise on a daily basis and be able to follow procedures and policies.

About you:

-      You will have exceptional organisational skills in order to work under pressure to complete tasks to potentially conflicting deadlines, without direct line management, re-prioritising your own work as appropriate or allocating tasks to others.

-      You will be capable of resolving problems, using your own initiative to provide practical solutions.

-      You will be experienced in using computer packages and be confident in quickly being able to use bespoke software used within different services.

-      Excellent communications skills will be required, together with high levels of customer service skills to deliver polite, courteous and efficient service to colleagues, partners and service users.

-      The ability to produce detailed minutes/notes at pace, with a good attention to detail will be required.

In line with safer recruitment, please ensure that your CV application covers your full employment history and there is a reason noted for any gaps in employment. Successful candidates will be asked to provide relevant references for the past ten years and character references will not be accepted.
