You will be supporting the delivery of an exciting new project, trialling different approaches to providing in-person energy and retrofitting advice to Bury residents. You will provide advice and support to those looking to improve their energy efficiency, checking eligibility and connecting local households to any available grant funding for heating and energy upgrades, whilst co-ordinating home retrofit assessments for those households who are able to pay for their own improvements. Providing a diverse front-line service, your time will be spent handling enquiries and across a range of face-to-face settings such as community events/venues – as you provide in-person, tailored advice, make links with key partners and promote the grants and offers available.

 

You will have experience of working within a customer service role or environment and can work independently using your own initiative. With excellent verbal and written communication skills, you will be able to confidently engage with a wide range of customers and partners. You are able to use IT systems effectively, and can input, extract and report on data sets.  Knowledge of energy efficiency, retrofitting and grant funding schemes will be key to the delivery of this role.

 

You will be directly reporting to the Unit Manager for Private Sector Housing and will attend collaboration meetings across Greater Manchester to report on your progress.  You will be based at 3 Knowsley Place and will be expected to travel therefore a driving licence is required as a car allowance is payable.

 

This is a temporary fixed term contract to 31/03/25 and is linked to external funding.  There may be the potential to extend further subject to the availability to funding.  Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week.

 

The salary is £29,269 to £32,076 per annum.
