Experienced Social Worker (Grade 12) or Qualified Social Worker ready for progression (Grade 11)

 

Team: Older Adults Mental Health (Social Care) Team

 

We are looking to recruit a forward-thinking, experienced qualified Social Worker with a passion for working with Older Adults and with a focus on a strengths-based approach. While the available post is for an Experienced Social Worker we are happy to consider applications from Qualified Social Workers how are ready to progress to the next stage of their career.

Social work team – Older Adults Mental Health.

 

The Older Adults Mental Health Social Work Team consists of both Social Workers and Social Care Officers. While we are not currently co-located with our Mental Health Nursing colleagues, we enjoy a positive working relationship and share a joint objective to promote the independence of Older Adults in Bury who are experiencing mental health problems, balancing rights and risks, to empower them to live a positive and fulfilling life.

 

We have a commitment towards our staff, ensuring they feel supported in their role. To support this, we have regular team meetings, staff one-to-ones, peer reflective supervision and encourage continuing professional development and training. 

 

We focus on how people can be supported by the strengths they have in themselves, their network of support from family, friends and their local communities. Where care and support is required, we work to ensure that this reflects the individual’s assessed needs and strengths, while promoting their independence, choice and control.

You will be expected to undertake statutory Social Work functions in line with the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act. To undertake duties expected of Social Workers in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework and in accordance with the specific job description attached.

What we want from you:

Person centred and compassionate, you’ll possess excellent listening skills, be highly organised and a team player. Passionate about social work and working with adults in a strengths-based way to meet their care and support needs in order to live as independently as possible.

 

  •   An in-depth understanding of the legal frameworks relevant to Adult Social Work.
  •   Experience of supporting and mentoring ASYE social workers and students on placement
  •  Social Work England registration
  •  Eligible to work in the UK
  •  Hold a full UK driving licence
  •  Substantial Post-qualified experience.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week.
