Children with Disabilities

 

We are looking to recruit a forward-thinking and experienced qualified social worker, preferably with some experience of leadership and management and previous having worked with Children with Disabilities.  Applications from people with a demonstrable interest in leadership management will also be considered. You will have knowledge and experience in safeguarding and working with looked after children.

You will be joining an enthusiastic and experienced team who are passionate about outcomes for children with disabilities. You will contribute to progress as we continue to establish and embed child focussed ways of working with children, young people and families throughout our work. You will be a reliable, dependable team member and a strong team player.

  • You will be an excellent communicator who will put the child at the forefront of any intervention, valuing their uniqueness, individuality, and strengths. You will have the skills required for, or be enthusiastic about learning how to, communicate with children who are non-verbal.
  •  Be the professional that enables our children and young people, to live the best lives possible and prepare them for adulthood by supporting them to have choice and control ensuring their voice.
  •  Be committed to delivering best practice in social work, promoting professional values and standards.
  •  Be inspired to grow as a member of the social work profession.
  •  You will need post qualifying experience and have complete the ASYE programme

 

The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare or children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. Appointment is subject to a satisfactory disclosure at the appropriate level under the Disclosure and Barring Service.

 

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.

 

The salary for this post will be £45,441 to £46,464 per annum.
