Bury Safeguarding Adults Board & Bury Local Safeguarding Children Board

 

Do you have considerable knowledge and experience of safeguarding as well as a passion for protecting and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and children?

 

The Bury Safeguarding Adults Board (BSAB) and the Bury Local Safeguarding Children Board (BSCB) are looking for a strong leader who can build on the foundations which have been laid to date.  Recognising the benefits of an integrated approach, we are seeking to recruit a joint Independent Chair for both Boards.

 

Interested?

 

You will have a successful track record at a senior level, with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of local and national safeguarding agendas and, of recent developments in social care and health, legislation and research underpinning this work.  You will be required to represent the BSAB and BSCB locally, regionally and nationally. 

 

In addition, you will have

  • experience of chairing complex professional and strategic meetings,
  • a clear understanding of the changing role of both Boards,
  • excellent leadership skills,
  • a proven ability to think strategically and,
  • the ability to resolve issues through negotiation.


The role involves work for approximately 30 days per year on a consultancy basis at a fixed rate of £500 per day.  Although you will not be entering into an employment relationship with Bury Council, HMRC regulations have defined this role as an “office holder” therefore payment arrangements will need to be made in accordance with deductions for tax and NI taken at source.

 

DBS Disclosure at Enhanced level and suitable references will be required prior to contract award.
