We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational technology departmental lead/middle leader for our young people.  Elms Bank is an outstanding generic secondary special school for pupils aged 11-19. You will join a team of professionals working with a range of complex needs including pupils who are on the autistic spectrum and pupils who have sensory processing disorders. We are looking for a colleague who will support the development of a whole-school ethos in which the raising of pupils’ attainment is central to your work on a day-to-day basis. The school community will need to see you as a highly effective leader who is able to lead by example by being an excellent technology practitioner. You will need to be innovative, creative, forward thinking and have a passion for working with the vulnerable children in our school to ensure they get the education they deserve. This will be the opportunity for you to make a real difference.

 

The successful candidate will:

- Have extensive experience and skills in working with pupils with a range of SEND and be passionate about helping all our young people to achieve to their full potential.
- Be able to demonstrate how their work has had a significant impact on the whole school and how they have raised standards
- Be able to demonstrate outstanding classroom practice and be able to lead outstanding teaching and learning of technology
- Have excellent interpersonal, organisational, leadership and management skills
- Have a strong commitment to technology curriculum development, which should include a good knowledge of  provision for pupils with SEN

 

The teaching timetable for this post will be weighted towards food technology. You will be part of an excellent team and will be given extensive support to develop to your full potential both in this role and beyond. You will have a pivotal role in the development and understanding of technology for our young people. We want you to have vision for the provision, which can be developed.
