You will be part of a team based at the Vehicle Workshop at Bradley Fold. The duties cover a wide range of vehicle maintenance topics, Vehicle & Plant servicing and maintenance, Workshop equipment maintenance, administration etc. There are two vacancies, one is primarily a night shift appointment and the other is days, although a degree of flexibility is required to provide cover for colleagues, changes to work patterns or taking part in the emergency call out rota (if required).

The workshops also carry out MOT’s and Hackney Carriage tests on behalf of the authority and a Class 4/7 MOT testers licence would be an advantage.

With strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels you must be a strong networker and confident at building new relationships and maintaining existing contacts.

Be self motivated, outgoing, personable and passionate about achieving targets. Have excellent planning, time management and prioritising skills, with a creative flair and a good attention to detail.

In order to support budget reductions in Local Government, the Council looked at many ways to reduce spending that minimised the need to reduce employee numbers or impact on services. All employees up to and including the Chief Executive are required to take an additional 3 days (unpaid) annual leave. This can be taken at any time during the leave year. The cost of these additional days is spread over 12 months or pro rata to your start date
