Learning Disability Day Service Support Worker

22 hours

£11,175 rising to £11,398 on successful completion of training and probation period

You will be a flexible person with a ‘can-do’ attitude.  You will have an ability to develop positive relationships with people and be passionate in supporting vulnerable people to reach their potential. You’ll want to make a positive difference to people’s lives and take pride in delivering high quality support. You’ll have a belief that people have a right to control and define their own lives regardless of disability, and see your role as enabling them to do this by supporting them to engage in a wide range of activities and opportunities both within our centres and in the wider community.  We are looking for people with the right attitude and values who will fit in to our team and enhance it even more.

You will be working alongside a team of staff in one of our Learning Disability Day Service bases.  However, as a flexible member of staff you may be asked to work at any of our bases across the borough depending on service need.

As Day Service Support Worker you will be responsible for supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities to engage in meaningful daytime activities either in groups or individual basis.  This post is a physical job where there is a requirement to move and handle people, support individuals with personal care, manoeuvre adults who use wheelchairs both indoors and out in the community, support people to use public transport and support with wider community activities such as swimming, voluntary work, dance sessions and sports. Consequently, staff will need to have good health and the physical capacity to carry out these duties.

In return for your contribution we will support you throughout your career and we provide a wide range of employee benefits, career development and lifestyle support services to ensure that you too feel supported, fulfilled and valued from day one of your employment with us.
