QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER (EARLY YEARS EDUCATION)

 

Soulbury 9 – 12 (plus SPA points)

37 hours per week – full time

£46,705 - £50,541

 

Two years fixed term, pending review of service needs

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Quality Standards and Performance Service in the Education and Inclusion Directorate of Bury’s Children and Young People Department. As lead officer for early years education the post holder will support and challenge Bury schools in quality assuring early years standards and provision.

 

The successful candidate will be a champion for all Bury children in accessing quality early years education. As a key member of a small team you will work collaboratively with schools, academies and multi academy trusts in Bury. The post will include brokering, commissioning or providing training and support to schools.

 

This is a two year fixed-term post responding to the need to re-set and recover early years education following the COVID-19 pandemic and to support the introduction of the early years reforms. The post will have an emphasis on supporting schools to address gaps in learning and development for vulnerable children.

 

The post holder will be the education lead for early years engaging with Bury and Greater Manchester colleagues in contributing to the School Readiness Strategy.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate skills, knowledge and understanding related to child development and early learning. They will support the work of transition from voluntary settings to schools and from the foundation stage into Key Stage 1. They will lead on the introduction of the new framework and baseline assessment building on the work of early adopter schools.

 

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate success in leading and supporting school improvement as an early years leader in good or outstanding provision.

 

 Applicants will be up to date on current policy, including the Early Years Reforms, and research within Early Years. Knowledge of the core principles of safeguarding and child protection are essential.
