Housing Assessment Service
Required as soon as possible
We are looking to appoint a Housing Advisor. The post holder will be required to be the first point of contact for customers entering the service either by face to face contact, over the telephone or in writing. A key area of the role is assisting customers with self help and where necessary identifying solutions to housing problems, plus helping people to secure and sustain suitable accommodation. Housing Advisors are also required to fulfil the councils housing assessment and homelessness responsibilities as guided by legislation, case law, the code of guidance and/or Council policy and procedures
This role requires someone who has:
- The ability to interpret and apply homeless legislation
- Experience of providing housing and homelessness advice
- Knowledge of the different types of housing options available
- Ability to work flexibly and place the customer at the centre of service delivery
- Working knowledge of Information Technology
The post holder will be required to work from various locations across the borough (subject to change) and undertake visits as and when required by the service plus participate in the out of hour’s rota.
The hours of work are 37 per week, worked in accordance with service requirements. A flexitime scheme is in operation.
The salary for this post is £24,313 to £26,999 per annum.
