The Derby High School is the highest performing school in Bury, Greater Manchester and has sustained this position for a number of years. We are seeking to appoint a full-time, permanent teacher of Design and Technology for September 2020. This role is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher who can contribute to the ongoing success of the Department. The ideal candidate should be able to teach across the ability and age range at Key Stage 3 and 4 and willing to teach across several disciplines within Design and Technology.
Design and Technology is an area that we are currently growing within the school and so this would be an exciting time to join us. We expect all our students to be challenged and inspired and to achieve beyond expectations and have a high uptake at Key Stage 4. The Department has forward-thinking plans to develop the curriculum and the learning environment and is working towards becoming a beacon of excellence for this subject area. We provide many opportunities to extend the curriculum both within and beyond the school day including trips, visits from outside organisations and competitions (we have hosted national STEM competitions). You would be working alongside a dedicated, hardworking and forward-thinking team where you will be supported to develop your practice. Last month the Head of Department was recognised for his leadership skills winning a national award for Leadership in Design and Technology through The Data Association (Excellence Awards).
The Derby High School is an over-subscribed 11-16 Co-Educational School situated in the heart of the town. The salary for this post is Teachers Pay Range - £24,373 to £40,490 per annum.
