Hours:                  Casual approx. 3 months              
Salary:                 Craft Salary £12.95 ph             

 

Bury ACES are looking to recruit suitably qualified Electricians to work within the Street Lighting/Highways Operations Team; you will be employed on a zero hours / casual basis.

 

You will undertake the repairs, maintenance, and installation of street lighting, illuminated street furniture, lighting columns and ancillary equipment in accordance with Contract Specification.  Additionally, you will carry out electrical installation underground and overhead cable networks repairing/testing ensuring you comply with all appropriate legislations.

 

Removing, repairing, cleaning and/or installation of street lighting furniture and equipment, you will set and change all types of lighting controllers including thermal and electronic photo electric cells.

 

You will drive and operate hydraulic platforms of up to and including 12 metres, use a range of tools and equipment, including powered hand tools, minor plant and machinery, and excavate holes/trenches for lighting column erection / laying cables and assist with their erection.

 

You must hold a current driving licence, and its desirable if you are able to drive class C1 vehicle; be a time served electrician; hold City and Guilds parts A and B; or parts 1 and 2 or equivalent; City and Guilds 2382-15 17th Edition (2382-12 course will be acceptable) and City and Guilds 2392 Inspection and testing.

 

Joining our in-house Casual Bank of staff (Bury ACES) you will be offered work on a demand basis; you may be required to evenings, weekends and unsociable hours.
