The Trustees are seeking to appoint a dedicated and highly motivated Instructor to work at our College Hub, the successful candidate will join a team of professionals working with a range of complex needs including profound and multiple learning difficulties and autism. Elms Bank is an outstanding and highly successful generic secondary special school for pupils aged 11-19. Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs is essential. We are looking for a colleague who will demonstrate a high level of commitment to these special young people.
We are looking for a colleague who:
- Will lead and plan hair and beauty at the College Hub
- Has experience within the hair and beauty industry
- Will provide excellent learning opportunities and engage our pupils
- Will be able to inspire confidence in meeting the needs of our pupils
- Will be highly motivated and will contribute to team working and team building
- Will be able to take advantage of the professional learning opportunities we can offer
- Will be able to teach outstanding lessons
- Will be a role model for all students in all aspects of academy life
You must:
- Have GCSE qualifications in English, Maths and ICT or a level 2 equivalent qualification
- Have a hairdressing level 3 qualification
- Have an A’ Level
- Be willing to study for a professional qualification in teaching hair and beauty
An instructor for 2019/20 will be employed as an unqualified teacher under School Teachers Pay & Conditions 2016.
This post is particularly suitable for an unqualified teacher who has an interest in hair and beauty and is interested in applying for this post to teach pupils working below Level 4. The instructor would be expected to demonstrate that they are competent in using a range of teaching strategies to engage and develop pupils’ understanding to ensure that they reach their full potential.
