Executive Officer to the Chief Executive

Salary £48,047 to£48,976

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Executive Officer to support Bury Council’s new Chief Executive, Geoff Little.

 

Working in this high profile role you will act as a strategic lead on behalf of the Chief Executive to support the development, co-ordination and implementation of corporate strategies and priorities. Also integral to the role is the co-ordination of the Council’s Corporate Policy and Communications functions.

 

The role involves working at pace on a wide variety of projects at the heart of organisational change.

 

You will work closely with public, voluntary and public sector partners and support the Chief Executive on internal transformation of the Council.

 

With your ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels, assess priorities and respond decisively and independently you will be able to effectively represent and act on behalf of the Chief Executive.

 

The position is offered on a permanent basis, or as a 12 month secondment, working full time, 37 hours per week in the borough of Bury and also in collaboration with other GM authorities, stakeholders and partners.

In order to support budget reductions in Local Government, the Council looked at many ways to reduce spending that minimised the need to reduce employee numbers or impact on services. All employees up to and including the Chief Executive are required to take an additional 3 days (unpaid) annual leave. This can be taken at any time during the leave year. The cost of these additional days is spread over 12 months or pro rata to your start date.

 

The closing date for the role is Tuesday 28th August 2018 at 5pm.

 

Interviews will be held on Thursday 6th September 2018.
