An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Council’s Operations department based at Bradley Fold Depot for an experienced and competent Supply Chain Manager, following the retirement of the previous post holder.

 

This post is 37 hours per week, subject to service requirements.

 

The salary for this post will be £39,782 to £40,760 per annum.

 

The post is responsible for the management of an efficient and cost effective supply chain service to meet the requirements of internal customers and partner organisations. 

 

It involves implementing and maintaining professional procurement processes and systems, ensuring best value for money in terms of whole life costing in all procurement activity.

 

The post involves the management of the budget for procurement of goods and services ensuring that all payments are made to suppliers and that all payments are received from customers.

 

The job includes the management of the Supply Chain team in maintaining effective and efficient systems of receipt, storage and distribution of materials both stocked and non-stocked to customers.

A great emphasis is placed on Health & Safety in the role and a thorough knowledge and understanding of this subject area is essential.

 

The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be self-motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about achieving targets and providing excellent customer service and possess the ability to effectively lead and motivate a small team.
