Bury ACES is a casual/bank recruitment agency for the Department of Communities and Wellbeing, Bury Council.  We recruit staff to cover for absences, such as annual leave, sickness, peaks in workloads, maternity, paternity and adoption leave and training for example, for the substantive/contracted workforce.  ACES employees are offered work on a non mutuality obligation basis, meaning that you do not have to accept work offered and we do not have to offer you work. You will work with other ACES employees’ as well as contracted/substantive employees of Bury Council; occasionally you may work with other external agency staff, you will work with our Customers (service users)

Casual Care Assistants/Support Workers

 

Bury Aces (Casual pool of workers) are seeking Care Assistants/Support Workers to cover for current short term vacancies and to support busy periods.

 

These positions are on a casual basis working for Adult Care Services and is a very rewarding career, as you can make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable adults.  We have a training programme in place and all Bury ACES employees are required to complete a training plan before commencing any assignment.

 

Our service operates 24/7 365 days a year. You will be expected to be available for a minimum of 15 hours per week.

 

Appointment is subject to a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service’

Bury ACES

 

Joining our in house Casual Bank of staff (Bury ACES), you will be offered work as and when suits the needs of the service. 

 

As a Casual Care Assistant working with Bury Aces you will support service users with daily life tasks such as personal care, enabling them to undertake these themselves where it is identified that they have the potential to do so, in line with care plans and risk assessments and assist service users with identified needs stated in their service user plan.

You will participate in a designated carer system to provide the level of care necessary to ensure all service users experience a high quality of life including help with social activities and an understanding of any emotional difficulty or needs the service user may express or require assistance with.

You will use equipment to support service users as stated in the service user plan where required (eg moving and handling aids etc)

Joining our in house Casual Bank of staff (Bury ACES), you will be offered work as and when suits the needs of the service.

Due to the nature of the service the successful candidate may be required to work any five days out of seven including weekends to meet service needs (this is for social care posts)

 

The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.  Appointment is subject to a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service’

 

In order to support budget reductions in Local Government, the Council looked at many ways to reduce spending that minimised the need to reduce employee numbers or impact on services. All employees up to and including the Chief Executive are required to take an additional 3 days (unpaid) annual leave. This can be taken at any time during the leave year. The cost of these additional days is spread over 12 months or pro rata to your start date. (N\A to Bury Aces Casual Staff)
