Required from 3rd September 2018.

 

A vacancy for an Early Years Quality Officer has arisen on a temporary basis to support a maternity leave with the Early Years Advisors Team.  This post is for a 12 month period or the return of the substantive post holder if sooner.

 

Hours of work are 34 hours per week, term time only, worked in accordance with service requirements.

 

The salary for this post is £18,592 to £20,620 per annum.

 

The Early Years Quality Officer is required to work closely with Early Years Childcare settings, Children’s Centre teams, other professionals, families and young children to deliver a wide range of services which promote and encourage health, education, social and emotional development in children and their families.

 

In addition Early Years Quality Officers provide targeted support to improve new and existing childcare practice and provision, and design and deliver high quality training and support programmes.

 

You must have:

 

·        NVQ Level 3 in Child Care and Early Years or higher or equivalent

·        Substantial experience of working in an Ofsted registered provision

·        Experience of working with young children and families

·        Evidence of continued Professional Development in Childcare/Playwork

·        Excellent communication skills

·        The ability to work on your own initiative, demonstrating flair and innovation

·        Dedication towards improving outcomes for children

 

In order to support budget reductions in Local Government, the Council looked at many ways to reduce spending that minimised the need to reduce employee numbers or impact on services. All employees up to and including the Chief Executive are required to take an additional 3 days (unpaid) annual leave. This can be taken at any time during the leave year. The cost of these additional days is spread over 12 months or pro rata to your start date.
