Bury Aces are recruiting Casual Bank Emergency Response Officers to work with our team of highly skilled Emergency Response team.

Work will be on a Casual Basis if and when needed.

Pay Grade 7 SCP 7 £20,092

Hourly Rate £10.41 plus 1.25 Annual Leave Payment

 

Casual Bank working hours to meet service requirements comprising evenings, nights and weekend days and nights. Associated Part 3 matrix payments will be applicable for unsociable hours of working.

 

Bury Councils Emergency Response and Resilience Team (ERRT) is a Priority 1 Service which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year who deal with a wide range of community/ security responses including Council emergency situations. The work of the service can be dynamic and exciting and it has diversified and expanded in recent years to meet the needs of a wide variety of clients and service areas.         

The post HQ is located at Bradley Fold Trading Estate Radcliffe and involves shift work out of hours as a mobile emergency response officer responding to incidents borough wide.

You will join a professional, self-motivated team of officers committed to the reduction of security risks and the prevention of crime and vandalism to all Council, client and partner agency land and property. You must be observant and assertive with good self-control and have the ability to deal with confrontation in a positive manner, particularly when dealing with members of the public.

 

Whilst a high level of experience and understanding of community safety and security work would be an advantage we are looking for applicants with transferable skills and experience with enthusiasm and potential to make a positive contribution to the work of the ERRT.

 

You must be observant and assertive with good self-control and communication skills, both verbal and written, and have the ability to deal with confrontation and problems in order to achieve a positive outcome. With training you must be prepared to develop a high level of understanding of response and mobile security work and have the ability to deal with a diverse range of community safety and security response issues. 

The post holder will be responsible for a varied and dynamic workload and the position provides an ideal opportunity for someone to gain valuable experience and develop their career.

 

What we want from you

All successful applicants must hold a valid Security Industry Association (SIA – Door Supervision) license which includes a satisfactory CRB check and a first aid qualification. You must possess a full Category B driving license with a maximum of 3 penalty points at the commencement of employment and have substantial driving experience. NB Other driving restrictions apply as part of the Council’s reducing road risk policy.
