Post:      Experienced Social Worker - Integrated Neighbourhood Teams

Hours:    Full Time Monday to Friday (Core Day hours)

Salary:    £33,799 to £35,974

 

We are part of The Bury Local Care Organisation (Bury LCO) formally launched on 1 April 2019, although we have been developing over the last year or so.

The aim of the LCO is to enable improvements in population health and wellbeing, by providing improved health and care services to the people of Bury. We are an innovative formal alliance of organisations: Bury Council; Bury GP Federation; BARDOC; Bury Voluntary, Community and Faith Alliance; Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (Salford Royal and Pennine Acute Hospital NHS Trusts); Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust; Persona Care and Support Ltd.

The LCO partners have made a commitment to work together as a single new body within the public sector, responsible for the transformation and delivery of a group of services and improving people’s health and wellbeing

The Bury LCO will work as one joined-up team rather than separate organisations, leading to more coordinated help and support, getting the best value for public money.

We are looking to recruit a number of permanent experienced social workers (level 3) and have vacancies in our Integrated Health and Social Care Teams base across the five Bury Neighbourhoods Teams.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced social workers to have the opportunity to further develop professionally and make a positive contribution to the work and development of this integrated journey.

 

The Integrated Neighbourhood Teams are community based working as multi-disciplinary teams that can make a real difference to the lives of adults living within the Bury area. You will participate in weekly active case management meetings offering relevant advice and support to your multidisciplinary colleagues by sharing your extensive knowledge and experience.


The post holder will be highly experienced in managing conflicting priorities and making quick evidence based decisions to enforce a safe and effective journey for adults within Bury.
You will be required to work with people in a broad range of situations and a range of high complexity cases.  In particular involving Court of Protection work, MCA/DoLS, safeguarding. As such the applicant will need to demonstrate via application and interview an excellent working knowledge of the Care Act including Mental Capacity/DoLS.

You will be required to have a range of knowledge, skills and experience and be expected stay up to date with knowledge of relevant local and national legislation relating to Social Care.

 

You will be able to build rapport and trust to establish effective relationships with people to support, engage and enable them to identify their strengths. This will be achieved through meaningful conversations and assessment. You will use an asset and strengths based approach, enabling people to take control of their own lives and focusing on what is important to them in to manage their own health and social care needs better


You will need to have a high level of experience of a Duty system and associated complex and non-complex case work.


As someone who embraces change, you will actively support Operational Management and lead on improvement and service developments. You will also play a key role working as part of an integrated neighbourhood team being co-located with health colleagues and working closely with partner organisations and stakeholders. 

 

You will assess and manage the work of social work students and following achieving stage 2 Practice Educator assess and support newly qualified social workers undertaking the ASYE programme with support from the Professional Social Work Educator.

You will be expected to provide mentorship to colleagues and support others to manage and prioritise work.

We will support your professional development with formal and informal supervision and provide opportunities to learn and develop skills on the job working closely with the wider operational management and neighbourhood team.

 

Working hours for this post are 37 per week, Monday to Friday (core hours 8.45am – 5pm).

Salary for the ESW post will be £33,799 - £35,934 per annum (April 2019 NJC Bury Pay Structure Grade 12).
