An opportunity has emerged for a Child and Family worker to join Team Oasis; the vacancy has arisen for a worker to join a small sub team within Team Oasis managing step-downs from the statutory Children with Disabilities Social Work Team for children who are receiving a financial package of support. Your role will be to provide practical and emotional support to children and carers in line with care plans, reviewing financial packages, developing Team around the Family Plans and responding to needs as they arise.  You will be based at East Spoke/Redvales Children’s Centre, 25 Dorset Drive, Bury BL9 9DN.

You will need to demonstrate knowledge of working with children and families and have a good understanding of the needs and issues of vulnerable children and young people.   Candidates must have a commitment to the values of empowerment, support and equality.

In order to support budget reductions in Local Government, the Council looked at many ways to reduce spending that minimised the need to reduce employee numbers or impact on services. All employees up to and including the Chief Executive are required to take an additional 3 days (unpaid) annual leave. This can be taken at any time during the leave year. The cost of these additional days is spread over 12 months or pro rata to your start date.
