Hub Learning Resource Manager
School Support Staff

Broad Oak (Specialist Sports College)

Hazel Avenue, Bury, BL9 7QT

Required immediately

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, passionate, dynamic and personable Learning Resource Manager to lead our state of the art learning resource hub – at the heart of teaching and learning at Broad Oak Sports College. The salary for this post is £15,792 - £17,600 per annum.

Your hours of work will be 37 per week, Monday to Friday, term time plus 5 days, subject to service requirements.

The newly refurbished HUB at Broad Oak Sports College is a much valued part of the life of the school. Recently installed at a cost of £75k, with state of the art library furnishings and inspirational forest decor, latest ICT management systems and equipment including i-pads, desk tops and laptop computing resources, the HUB is literally a sanctuary of learning – a place staff and students value highly and use to the full on a daily basis – both during and after the school day.

We are looking for someone with a passion for literature and for research and learning who wants to inspire this in young people – both through our existing facilities and processes and through innovation. You will need to be highly experienced in a similar environment of learning resource management, well organised and have excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Most of all you should be passionate about learning and engaging students here to enable them to grasp every opportunity to achieve.

BOSC was judged as “good” in all areas during our most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2014.

Applicants should enclose a detailed letter of application accompanying the application form. This should not only outline the full extent of your experience pertaining to the post but it should also offer a clear insight into your own ‘USP’ - the unique personal and professional approach or values that you will bring to this pivotal role in school. We are keen to speak to applicants with passion and drive.

Interviews will take place early in January 2018 and details of the interview process will be advised to those applicants invited to attend.

Candidates who do not receive contact by January 12th 2018 should assume that their application has not been successful on this occasion.

If you require any further information about the post, please contact Dennis Harvey at the school directly on 0161 797 6543 or via email at d.harvey@broadoaksportscollege.co.uk. Visits to school are particularly welcomed and encouraged.

Employees of Broad Oak Sports College and Bury MBC have a responsibility for and must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and for ensuring that they are protected from harm.

The appointment of Hub Learning Resource Manager at Broad Oak Sports College is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure statement from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
